Hamel leads Cheshire boys lacrosse past Conard


WEST HARTFORD — Ben Hamel netted a hat trick as the Cheshire boys lacrosse team earned an out-of-conference victory on Friday afternoon. The Rams defeated Conard 11-7.

Matt Blois (2 goals, 2 assists), Anthony Trasacco (2 goals, assist), Alec Thomas (2 goals, assist), Matt Samuelson (goal) and Jack Cunningham (goal) provided the offense for Cheshire (4-6).

Jared Lawson made 23 three stops in the Ram net.

Chieftains is 2-7.

CO-ED TRACK AND FIELD

Lyman Hall: Ryan Woolley and Charlotte Lau were individual winners for the Trojans in the Marty Roberts Invitational at Coginchaug High School.

Woolley won the pole vault with a leap of 12 feet and Lau won the long jump in 14 feet, 8 1/2 inches.

Lyman Hall also won the 4x800 relay with a team of Javier Reyes, John Gill, Paul Nigro and Mike Ransom in 8:57.

Mackenzie Wall took second in the triple jump with a mark of 33 feet, 4 inches.
